Hippopotamus 14938
Hippos are supposed to be here? Nothing to see. Yes, there! Only the small ears and the nostrils look out of the water. The hippopotamus dozes there with relish and cools down. The African sun can be quite hot. The grey giant therefore prefers to spend its time in the water. Here it moves almost weightlessly – and that with this massive body! It only comes ashore at night to graze on a meadow. It trudges around with its heavy body on short legs. But it should not be underestimated. The hippopotamus can also pick up quite a bit of speed on land once it gets moving. Watch out!
